General information

KINSHOFER GmbH is one of the leading manufacturers of attachments for loader cranes and hydraulic excavators, as well as for
rotators, Tiltrotators and rotary actuators. The headquarters of the global company is located in the Bavarian village Waakirchen/Marienstein, Germany.
Originally named KINSHOFER Maschinenbau Miesbach, the company was founded by Alfred Kinshofer on August 4, 1971 in Miesbach,
Bavaria, Germany.
At the beginning the small business only produced bridge bearings, handrails and accessories for brick factories, such as tunnel kiln
trucks or lifting and lowering devices for tile presses.
Two years after the company‘s founding, the development of the first brick stack grapple began. Just one year later, the construction of a
pallet fork and a clamshell bucket followed. As the capacities of the original factory had been exhausted, a new plant was built in eastern
Miesbach in 1975.
Only two years later, this building had grown too small again, so a second building was constructed with additional office buildings.
In 1979, the company‘s first rotator with 360° endless rotation was developed.
The company changed its name to KINSHOFER Greiftechnik GmbH in 1980, and the first sales activities in the United States and the UK
took place.
In 1984, the first foreign sales subsidiary of the company was founded in Stockport, Cheshire, England: KINSHOFER UK Ltd.
Alfred Kinshofer sold his shares in 1987, but kept being a worthy consultant for the company. The same year, KINSHOFER France was
founded in Strasbourg, France.
Planning began in 1997 for factories in the Austrian village of Gmünd and the Czech České Velenice, and one year later MARS
Greiftechnik was founded and production started.
In the year 2000, KINSHOFER made the step overseas and acquired the Canadian company Liftall which was to become the subsidiary
KINSHOFER North America.
A major milestone for KINSHOFER occurred in 2003: the development of the patented HPXdrive that bestowed the if-Silver Award
for ”Product Design“ in the ”Industry“ branch upon the company.
In 2006, the company finally got its current name: KINSHOFER GmbH. The same year, the Dutch specialist for demolition and recycling
tools Demarec B.V. was acquired.
The worldwide operating Swedish company Lifco AB acquired KINSHOFER GmbH in 2007.
Another logical consequence was the expansion to the east, and so the company Darda KINSHOFER Construction Machinery Co. Ltd.
was founded in 2008 in the Chinese capital of Beijing.
The same year marks the foundation of KINSHOFER Aponox Oy in Hämeenlinna, Finland with the main focus on NOX Tiltrotators.
As the year 2011 came to an end, KINSHOFER acquired the Swedish company RF-System AB, as well as the intellectual property
and distribution rights of New Zealand‘s Wedgelock Equipment Ltd. at the beginning of 2012, further broadening the available
product range.
In 2013, the new KINSHOFER US factory opened in Sanborn in the state of New York.
KINSHOFER and the UK based company Auger Torque Europe Limited announced on February 3rd 2015 that they have
signed a definite agreement to merge. Under the terms of the agreement KINSHOFER has acquired 100% of the shares of Auger
Torque Europe Ltd. and Auger Torque Australia Pty Ltd.. Auger Torque is a manufacturer of earth drills, augers, trenchers and
other high quality attachments for excavators, skidsteers, backhoes, telehandlers, tractors, truck cranes & more.
KINSHOFER counts on a high vertical integration. The products are designed in the proper development department, constructed and
finally tested in the in-house test laboratory. Thus the company retains control not only over the production, but also the product itself.
Constant communication and information exchange between the company and its clients results in further developments and
innovations that keep the company close to the customer.
In the Action Park at the company‘s headquarters, there is also the possibility for dealers and clients to take part in training and tool
demonstrations.

Die KINSHOFER GmbH ist einer der führenden Hersteller von Anbaugeräten für Ladekrane und Hydraulikbagger, ebenso
für Drehmotore, Tiltrotatoren und Drehantriebe. Der Hauptsitz des globalen Unternehmens befindet sich in der
bayerischen Ortschaft Waakirchen/Marienstein, Deutschland.
KINSHOFER wurde nach dem Gründer benannt. Am 4. August 1971 gründete Alfred Kinshofer die Firma KINSHOFER Maschinenbau
Miesbach in Miesbach, Bayern, Deutschland.
Anfangs produzierte das kleine Unternehmen nur Brückenlager, Geländer und Zubehör für Ziegelwerke wie Tunnelofenwagen
oder Hub- und Senkvorrichtungen für Ziegelpressen.
Zwei Jahre nach Firmengründung begann man mit der Entwicklung der ersten Steinstapelzange. Nur ein Jahr später folgte die
Konstruktion einer Palettengabel und eines Zweischalengreifers. Da die Kapazitäten der ursprünglichen Produktionsstätte
ausgereizt waren, wurde 1975 eine neue Fertigungshalle in Miesbach Ost errichtet.
Nur zwei Jahre später wurde auch dieses Gebäude zu klein und eine zweite Fertigungshalle mit zusätzlichen Bürogebäuden wurde
gebaut.
Im Jahr 1979 wurde der erste Endlos-Drehmotor der Firma entwickelt.
Ein Jahr später erfolgte die Umfirmierung in KINSHOFER Greiftechnik GmbH. Erste Verkaufsaktivitäten in den USA und England
wurden getätigt.
1984 wurde schliesslich der erste ausländische Verkaufsstandort in Stockport, Cheshire, England, gegründet: KINSHOFER UK Ltd.
Alfred Kinshofer verkaufte 1987 seine Firmenanteile, blieb jedoch in beratender Stellung für das Unternehmen tätig. Im selben
Jahr wurde Kinshofer France in Strassburg, Frankreich, gegründet.
Ein Jahr später begannen die Planungen für die neuen Fertigungs- und Bürogebäude in Marienstein, dem heutigen Hauptsitz.
Zwei Jahre danach begann man schliesslich mit dem Bau der geplanten Hallen und im Dezember 1990 erfolgte der Umzug des Unternehmens.
1997 wurde der Bau der Fertigungshallen im österreichischen Gmünd und dem tschechischen České Velenice geplant, und nur ein Jahr
später wurde die Firma MARS Greiftechnik gegründet und in den neu gebauten Hallen die Fertigung aufgenommen.
Im Jahr 2000 wagte KINSHOFER den Sprung über den grossen Teich und akquirierte das kanadische Unternehmen Liftall, die heutige
Niederlassung Kinshofer North America.
Ein Meilenstein der Unternehmensgeschichte: im Jahr 2003 entwickelte KINSHOFER den patentierten HPXdrive, der mit einem iF-Silver
Award für „Produkt Design“ im Sektor „Industrie“ ausgezeichnet wurde.
2006 bekam die Firma schliesslich ihren heutigen Namen: KINSHOFER GmbH. Im selben Jahr wurde der niederländische Spezialist für
Abbruch- und Recyclinggeräte Demarec B.V. aufgekauft.
Die weltweit agierende schwedische Unternehmensgruppe Lifco AB akquirierte die KINSHOFER GmbH im Jahr 2007.
Seit 2008 ist das Unternehmen auch in Asien vertreten durch das Büro der neu gegründeten Darda KINSHOFER Construction
Machinery Co. Ltd. in Chinas Hauptstadt Beijing.
Im gleichen Jahr wurde ebenfalls das Unternehmen KINSHOFER Aponox Oy, in Hämeenlinna, Finnland gegründet, mit
Hauptaugenmerk auf den NOX Tiltrotatoren.
Ende des Jahres 2011 erwarb KINSHOFER schliesslich das schwedische Unternehmen RF-System AB, sowie Anfang 2012 die geistigen
Eigentums- und Vertriebsrechte der neuseeländischen Wedgelock Equipment Ltd. und erweiterte somit die angebotene
Produktpalette noch weiter.
2013 öffnete die neue KINSHOFER-Fertigung in Sanborn, New York, USA.
KINSHOFER und Auger Torque Europe Limited fusionierten Anfang des Jahres 2015. Dabei kaufte die KINSHOFER GmbH 100% der
Anteile von Auger Torque Europe Ltd. und Auger Torque Australia Pty Ltd.. Auger Torque ist Hersteller von Erdbohrern, Bohrschnecken,
Grabenfräsen und hochwertigen Anbaugeräten für Bagger, Kompakt- und Radlader, LKW-Ladekrane, sowie andere Trägergeräte.
KINSHOFER baut auf eine hohe Fertigungstiefe. Die Produkte werden in der hauseigenen Entwicklungsabteilung konstruiert,
in der Fertigung gebaut und schliesslich im eigenen Testlabor „auf Herz und Nieren“ geprüft. So behält das Unternehmen nicht nur
die Kontrolle über die Produktion, sondern auch über das Produkt selbst.
Ein kontinuierlicher Informationsaustausch zwischen der Firma und den Kunden resultiert in stetigen Weiterentwicklungen und
Innovationen. Dabei wird Kundennähe gross geschrieben.
Im eigenen Action Park am Unternehmenshauptsitz Marienstein haben sowohl Händler als auch Kunden die Möglichkeit an
Schulungen und Demonstrationen teilzunehmen.
